In general I agree that the download pages leaves much to be desired. It's on the todo list.

1) Add a release date beside the version number
2) Add a link to the release notes beside the release date (can link to the discussion forums announcement).
3) in Google Chrome, the download links appear twice for some reason. This is confusing and annoying.
